ABOUT
I am a mother, farm wife and teacher.
I grew up in Elrose, SK completing my K - 12 education at Elrose Composite School. After completing my Education degree from the University of Regina, I proceeded to teach throughout rural Saskatchewan, taking positions in Swift Current, Rosetown and coming full circle to Elrose. While teaching I continued my own education journey completing my Special Education Certificate and taking other interest classes through the University of Saskatchewan and University of Regina.

My husband and I are raising our children within the community we grew up in. Volunteering with our kids activities and in local service clubs keeps us more than busy. Our yearly winter family vacations to Disney and spending time together at the lake during summer are our favourite ways to bond and relax as a family.

I have a strong passion for working with children and would love to be able to provide extra supports to children within my own community and surrounding communities in rural Saskatchewan.

MY EXPERIENCE
Roles & Responsibilities
Piano and Voice Teacher
April 2022 - Present
Piano and Voice have always been a passion of mine, and I wanted children within my community to have the opportunity to learn. I am able to teach in both Elrose and Kyle communities once a week to students from beginner to intermediate levels of piano, and beginner voice.
Grade Four Teacher
September 2025 - Present
Grade Four Teacher at Elrose Compsite School. Our numbers in Kindergarten reduced and we were unable to have a stand along kindergarten class. I accepted a co-teaching grade four position. Here I have had to learn to share a teaching position with another colleague to effectively teach a group of students. This has required high communication and collaboration skills to be effective.
Kindergarten Teacher
September 2024 - June 2025
Kindergarten Teacher at Elrose Composite School. After coming back from medical leave I went back to my roots and took a Kindergarten position at ECS.
Within this role, I not only taught the kindergarten curriculum but worked to develop strong language and literacy supports.
Student Support Teacher
September 2020 - June 2024
Student Support Teacher for Kindergarten - Grade 12 at Elrose Composite School. This position required supporting students with various struggles in their educational journey. I worked along side speech pathologists, occupational therapists, autism services and many other professionals to develop short and long term plans for students within ECS.
During my time in this position our school grew from under 100 students to nearly 130 students. My position grew to include supporting multiple students with autism, students with high behaviour needs, and everything in between. As our school population and needs increased so quickly, it was hard for our staff to provide quality instruction. It became my job to bridge gaps and help to develop quality programming within our building.
In February of 2024 I had to take a medical leave for major health issues.
PRE-KINDERGARTEN TEACHER
August 2014 - June 2020
Pre-Kindergarten Teacher at Walter Aseltine School in Rosetown. This required teaching children aged 3 to 5. These students were admitted into the program because of varying need. My job was to use inquiry based learning and some individualized planning to meet the interests and needs of the students. Through all of this I also maintained close and constant contact with the students families.
While in this position I also attended staff meetings and PD Days within the division.

PRE-KINDERGARTEN TEACHER
August 2012 - June 2014
Pre-Kindergarten Teacher at Ecole Oman School in Swift Current. While completing the same responsibilities as above, I was also in charge of developing the program from scratch including ordering classroom furniture and materials.

MY SKILLS
Tricks of the Trade

PLANNING
I am able to plan according to student need and curriculum. This includes using: inquiry based learning, direct teaching, experiential learning and independent study. I am able to take students needs and scaffold the activities they will need to complete in order to reach an outcome.

BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS
One of my strongest skills is the ability to build strong relationships with my students' and their families. Recognizing student strengths and building on them and also seeing their weaker skills and helping them discover how to strengthen them.

ROUTINE
I am able to create and implement classroom rules and procedures to promote positive learning environments.
By having predictable structure within the classroom students feel more at ease and safe therefore more ready to learn.
